Loma is truly a one stop light town with a population of merely 1,442 people. It is known for its wide open spaces, agricultural land, Kokopelli mountain bike trails, and Highland State Park which offers a lake for swimming & boating in the summer. Services are limited in Loma, but it is a quick drive to Fruita or Grand Junction for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Most of the land is zoned for agricultural use and the homes are on Ute water and septic for sewer, which limits development. Home options include large or small acreage farms, ranches, fixer-uppers, and lavish estates, most of which aren’t part of a subdivision so there are no covenants to abide by. Children in Loma will attend Loma Elementary School and will be bused to Fruita for middle and high school.
