Palisade is a quaint agricultural town that is nestled at the base of the Grand Mesa along the Colorado River. The breezes that funnel through DeBeque Canyon create a temperate climate that produce ideal growing conditions. In the fertile soil all types of vegetables are grown along with hops and grapes for wine, but the town in most famous for their stone fruit specifically the Palisade peaches! The town is also known as the wine country of Western Colorado with over 30 wineries, a distillery, and brewery. With the exception of Downtown Palisade, most of the homes for sale are custom built homes on acreage with either fruit trees or vineyards.
This small town with few street lights, no franchise businesses, and very friendly residents comes alive in the summer months. The downtown area lined with cafe’s, a bakery, antique and artisan shops is the location of the Sunday Farmer’s Market and several other festivals. Riverbend Park along the Colorado River is the location of the annual Peach Festival, Colorado Lavender Festival, International Honeybee Festival, and the Colorado Mountain Winefest which frequently sells out. If you get tired of enjoying the local produce and beverages, there is also the Palisade Rim Trail for mountain biking, river floats down the Colorado River, and leisurely strollers through the Fruit & Wine Byway.
